Our Mission

Our mission is to unite in a sisterhood qualified business and professional women who will encourage, inspire, nuture, and assist persons engaged in business vocations.



Our History

Lola Mercedes Parker had a dream. On June 1, 1929, that dream became Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., which is the first African-American sorority for business and professional women. Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. strives to create space for black women and to help those women prosper in the business and professional landscape.



Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. was founded in Chicago, Illinois




Gamma chapter was chartered in Washington, D.C.




Delta Phi chapter was chartered at Howard University
